How to achieve the ‘right’ fit

It may not seem easy to order a jacket to fit well when your body is changing almost every day – but don’t worry – when you chose a mamalila jacket you actually only have a couple of things to think about:

    • Order your normal size. The two inserts delivered with the jacket ensure enough room for either a maternity tummy or a carried child (up to the age of approx. 2 years old).
    • Think about what you would normally like to wear under the jacket – and if you generally prefer a closefitting jacket or a more loose fitting jacket. In the end it is a personal choice how a jacket should comfortably sit.
Though mamalila models have different cuts, the following table should help with deciding on a size:

    mamalila size

    Average size

    XS36
    S38
    M40
    L42
    XL44
    XXL46

If in doubt, it can be helpful torefer to individual measurements. In our Online-Shop each mamalila model has a sizing table and further information about the cut of each jacket.
We are happy to advise you if you are not sure which size to order!

    How to measure your size:

Wearing the clothing you would expect to wear under the jacket, hold the measuring tape loosely against your body, not too loosely or too tightly. It can be easier to ask someone to measure you!

    1. Chest

Relax your arms and measure around the chest at the widest point under the arms.

    2. Waist

Normally the smallest point of the waist should be measured. However, since your waist measurement will considerably change from before,to after the birth of your baby, this measurement is not necessary when choosing the right mamalila jacket.

    3. Hips

Measure at the widest point of your hips and bottom.
